How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing? How did you come up with your stories?
I have been writing since I was a young boy, writing a story about a tour in England. My writing became more of a necessity in college to express my deep feelings I kept inside. My stories come from inspirations from everyday situations and people.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
The best aspects of writing are creating characters who overcome obstacles and conflicts, to find their place in life, even when their choices are not the most popular. Writing gives me an escape from stress and self-doubt. Probably the worst aspect of writing is reaching an audience. Marketing and promotion are a necessity but take away the valuable time I would rather use for writing.
What inspires you to write?
Love and people inspire me to write. I find it difficult to describe how I feel when I see people express an overwhelming gesture of kindness or love. When I cannot communicate verbally with family and friends, I escape to express my emotions in stories. Sometimes, I am inspired by times when I experience an overwhelming sensation, captured in a moment in time, like the silhouette of a crescent moon behind a naked deciduous tree. With the hoot of an owl in the background.
How did you conduct your research for – The Secret Santa?
To be honest, The Secret Santa was completely a fantasy from my real life with my husband. I did no research other than looking for a picture for the cover.
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from your new release?
“Did the real Santa Claus send you to seduce me?”
"I’ll reignite the fire of your passion with an exceptional power found in a special recipe from the North Pole’s almighty vault.
“If Secret Santa comes into your life, heed his advice, get naked, and have some fun with the person you love.”
What would your friends say is your best quality?
They say I am kind and care about others. They say I am disciplined. They say I keep trying after at first I do not succeed.
Are reader reviews important to you?
They are to a point. They help me improve my writing, but I try to ignore them when they are overly complimentary or extremely negative. If I listened to what everyone said about what I create, I would stall and be unable to write.
I love to garden. I use to be a landscape gardener. I love to walk and exercise to focus and feel my body, mind and soul unified. I love to make love, cook and read.
