Book Synopsis
Would you surrender your soul for the love of the King?
Lena, a vampire and a Guardian of the Order, has been honour-bound to protect human souls all her life. Acting first and thinking second is what's saved her skin time and again in the war against the Fallen, but her disregard for orders soon catches up with her when her boss is seriously injured. Forced to take responsibility for her actions, Lena is thrust into the path of her very own kryptonite; Thorn. The raw power of his soul calls to her and his mere presence lights a fire within her that she cannot contain.
With Vampire magic waning and the race in crisis, can either of them afford to ignore Nature's call? If they do, the future of the race is in jeopardy. If they don't, they will both lose the most precious part of themselves... Their souls

A Wonderful Paranormal Read!!
Look at that cover! Between the beautiful cover and the intriguing synopsis I knew I had to read this story. Let me tell you, author Sharon Lipman didn't disappoint in delivering the paranormal read I was hoping to read.
If you like the Dark Protector Series or Black Dagger Brotherhood Series, you may like this book. At least, that's what this book reminded me of. Similar yet different.
I loved every single one of the characters and the world they lived in. It was built beautifully from beginning to end. The plot was interesting and kept me itching to solve the puzzle laid before me. I would definitely recommend this book.
*I received this book free in exchange for an HONEST review*

I received a free copy in return for an honest review. So, on to the spoiler-free review.
This is a first-time author's work so I expected some pretty clumsy world-building. I didn't get it. Lipman did a really good job making her world (although I had to look up a word right away that seems to be a Scottish slang I'd never heard of. Yay for new knowledge!)
The romance between the two MCs had a fairly organic feel to it. It wasn't the instant love thing so many of us hate. They have, in fact, known each other for centuries, but just need to work together exclusively because circumstances demand it.
I will admit that there was a rather important development that I figured out right away but it didn't detract from my enjoyment of the story at all. There were a few typos, but nothing I haven't seen in books written and published by big name authors.
I'm definitely interested in seeing where she goes with this world and finding out more about the vampires' role as soul-bearers.
Kudos to a new author.

I received a copy in an exchange for an honest review.
With Paranormal Romance and Urban Fantasy authors popping up just about everywhere nowadays, I braced myself for another mediocre read. Still, I love vampires and I knew Sharon's writing is amazing, so I agreed to read the novel.
Let me get one thing straight however; this book is far from mediocre. Sharon Lipman manages to put a new, refreshing spin on vampires. Her world building is extraordinary and her characters feel real. I was on the verge of my seat several times and found it hard to put the book down.
I love stubborn, reckless Lena. As the only female Guardian she is used to having to prove herself, but she has this underlying insecurity when it comes to Thorn.
Thorn on the other hand is the hot, handsome King of Vampires, but sometimes I wanted to smack him.
All in all Sharon's characters are well rounded, the world is amazing, so put this on your TBR list, even if you are growing tired of vampires, because Sharon's are unlike any other vampires.

I haven't got time for a full review but I have to say this is an amazing read for a 1st time author!
Her world building and characters are fantastic and I cannot wait for book 2!

First up, I received an ARC for an honest review. Secondly, I don't know Sharon Lipman personally so this is an entirely honest review and I'm not one of her friends rooting for her...although I'm sure they all are because this book really is great!
I'm not going to give a synopsis as there already is a perfectly adequate one, but I will say that I liked the story line, enjoyed the characters and the different spin on a vampire love story. The words flowed easily, drawing me into the scenarios and at no time did I think about it as a book. It takes a really good writers to describe things in such a way that the images form in our minds and we move along with the characters as if we are there with them.
It's been well edited, carefully thought out and it is one of those books I wanted to pick up because it's certainly held my attention.
Well done on a great first novel. I eagerly anticipate the second in the series.
