Hello Solease and Thank you for joining us today for this countdown to Christmas special with 25 Bad Boys from "Santa's Naughty List".
Let's Get Started!
Hi it’s me, Solease M Barner! I’m an author of paranormal romance and suspense romance, with surprises coming soon! I’m a big poetry girl and think the Michigan Wolverines are the best, Alumni!!!
I love family and think its important and laughing, lots of laughter! I’m a social lady and love to talk. I love cooking and think I’m pretty good. Writing and reading is something I’m obsessed with and happy that I am.
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I’ve been writing poetry all my life, but a published author just a little pass four years. I started writing because of a poem I wrote and decided telling a story would fit better. That was the beginning of this amazing journey!
How did you come up with your stories?
My stories come from all sorts of places. My imagination, people, movies I’ve watched, and even just people watching. I don’t limit how an idea comes to me, so I’m always looking and searching!
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
The best part of writing is expression for me. I love to express my ideas through telling a story! It’s amazing and the best feeling. The idea of being free in writing on what you want, is pretty cool! The worst part of writing is editing, rewrites, editing, writers block, editing, making sure your story makes sense, editing…you get my drift lol
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from your new release?
“Do you have a boyfriend, fuck buddy, fiancé, or anyone that I may have to compete with?”
“I’m fucked, and not just a little fucked. I’m fucked to the first, second and third degree.” Corbin keeps pacing.
“Corbin, I’m tired, can you just leave…”
“No, I’m not leaving but if you want to sleep, go ahead. Do you have food?”
Corbin is not about to allow her to put him out the house. If he has to sleep next to her bed all night, he will. He needs to know how deep his feelings run for her and he needs to know now.
“I’m eating chips because I didn’t cook anything, but by all means, make your demanding self at home and help yourself to my food. After all, I’m only a person you just met tonight.”
“Does the time really matter if you feel connected to someone?” He asks.
Do you have any blogs/websites?
Yes I do, my website is: http://soleasembarner.com/
Thank You Solease for taking the time to sit and talk with us.

5.0 out of 5 stars
A very enjoyable and very detailed diary.
By Julie Haigh on October 28, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition
I was lucky enough to win a signed paperback copy of this book in a competition. I also have the kindle editions of both the new edition and the older edition, and, at various times, I did read parts of all of them to compare-eg: when I was at a hospital appointment, rather than taking my precious signed copy, I read on the original kindle version-I later got the brand new kindle version and continued reading from the two new editions. I like diary format-this is kept very simple, it feels as if it would be very authentic to the original diary. Some of it is almost just notes then some sentences are fuller. I like how it is as it was then-it's not been written years later and things tried to remember-this is the actual diary he kept at the time. It's now all in one volume and I still re-read and enjoyed the first two sections I'd read previously in his two shorter books (£99 to Hong Kong and Time in Thailand). We’re soon exploring India. This is the kind of writing I love to read; informative, describing the sights, sounds, tastes and smells of the area. We have climate details, these happen throughout his trip and I found it welcome information. It’s very interesting finding out all the places he plans to visit: Agra, Nepal, Sri Lanka. Also very interesting is reading about the night bazaar with all the stalls selling their wares and the food stalls too where the food is cooked on-site. This is a very detailed diary-there really is everything in here-both of local interest etc, the foods he had, how much it cost and right down to the times he woke up and went to bed! A very open, honest and revealing diary which appeals very nicely to my nosey nature. I love reading of other people's travels to far flung destinations. It means I get the feel of going there without all the inconveniences. There are great examples and descriptions of his seeing the sights to be seen-the first bit of the diary doesn't have this because of his unexpected detour to prison! Contained in this book are the author’s adventures, the people he meets: other travellers and locals, the foods he eats, the sights he sees. It's all a very interesting log of a memorable trip of a few months from many years ago. Apple crumble?-I was somehow amused to hear that they do this pudding here! It seemed so out of place and unexpected! Eg: fried rice, daal, vegetable curry......Apple crumble!!!!! Of course, this is in the days before email and he keeps checking if he has any post-only to find there is frequently none. There are news events from the time included-e.g., mention of The Ripper sentenced to life imprisonment. I like how he tells of the books he is reading at various times throughout his trip. One of particular interest, I wondered if this book was still available? It was amazing to think that here was a type of travel book which was interesting ‘Fred’ back then-and he was to end up writing such a book himself. I found this book is still available so this introduced me to yet another book! This is the kind of thing I do-I don’t just read quickly through something-for those few days or week etc. when I’m reading a book such as this, I live it!-I enjoy looking things up and finding out more about the places mentioned etc. I love lots of detail and I get so much out of it. I realise that, for some people, the detail may be a bit exhaustive and indeed, this new edition has quite a few pages less than the original one-but, it’s just my sort of thing. I loved the intrigue about whether Rita would reply, what was going on? Was it on or off with her? Fred certainly keeps us guessing with the Rita aspect! So he mentions he did take plenty of pictures-I would have liked some in here. Oh my goodness! But oh my how interesting where they see the bodies burning and about what they do with the ones not cremated. And another thing-he's brought out this new edition-and this year 2015-has exactly the same days and dates as 1981. I do like how things tie in like this-what a great idea to bring out a new edition in a year which mirrors the original. It's great, it's just written in normal, everyday language-a genuine, authentic, REAL diary. Just read it like that, it's not meant to be an action novel! Just real, true, raw. And I like that. Oh my goodness, SO interesting-the bit about the Hanging Gardens. I was reading this book whilst waiting for a hospital appointment and was so engrossed in it that I jumped out of my skin when the doctor called my name out! This is a record of an experience, a moment in Fred's history, it tells it like it was. It doesn't need any dressing up. I really enjoyed it. The diary has engrossing moments and more 'normal' moments too-this is real life. This is an edited and updated edition and I noticed on comparing my different editions that some bits are missed out-I loved all the details but I accept he may have been recommended to take some excess out. There’s still plenty of detail and info in here-a great record of Fred's trip, very enjoyable.

Hello James and Thank you for joining us today for this countdown to Christmas special with 25 Bad Boys from "Santa's Naughty List".
Let's Get Started!
Hi and thanks for having me,
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
For about 12 years, I come from a very talented family of musicians and my mother was a singer and an actress so I guess, it was inevitable that I would be an artist of some kind.
How did you come up with your stories?
I am never sure how I come with ideas for poems or stories, I guess the idea comes into my head and I let the stories and the characters dictate what and how they do things. I try not to plan too much, it just comes out naturally. If that makes any sense.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
One of the best aspects of writing is creating new worlds and new characters that only belong on the page, and in a lot of ways you can control every aspect of the world you create. And of course communicating ideas to a reader or an audience member—writing is a form of communication, that I have always found to be superior to other mediums because there is a relationship between the writer and the reader, you have to meet the writer half way and allow the writer’s ideas to permeate in your own head. One of the worst aspects would be the isolation writer’s kind of have to thrive in, the rejection, the stresses of promoting and the mocking self-doubt of the blank page.
What do you do when you don’t write?
I have just been accepted into the Masters program at Monash University, Australia,
doing my Expert Masters in Communications and Media Studies, so I can eventually start my own literary magazine and business.
Tell us about your other books?
I mainly write poetry but have started releasing my own E-novella series, Tuesday Suicide, parts 1 and 2 are out already, part 3 is now in the editing phase. Tuesday Suicide: is a dark and twisted tale of bizarre love triangles, addiction, murder and psychosis. Natural Born Killers meets Requiem for a dream meets Junkie meets American Psycho. A faded TV star and his junkie girlfriend go on a killing spree, hunting down child molesters and stumble upon a paedophile ring that secretly runs the city of Melbourne.

Monica Corwin
Monica Corwin is an outspoken writer who attempts to make romance accessible to everyone no matter their preferences. As a new Northern Ohioian Monica enjoys snow drifts, three seasons of weather, and disliking Michigan. When not writing Monica spends time with her daughter and her ever growing collection of tomes about King Arthur.

Hello Monica and Thank you for joining us today for this countdown to Christmas special with 25 Bad Boys from "Santa's Naughty List".
Hi Sarah & Margaret!
Let's Get Started!
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
Since I was 10 but not seriously until about 8 years ago. I wanted an escape and writing gave that to me.
How did you come up with your stories?
Most of the time something strikes me and won’t let go until I get it out. Sometimes from dreams too.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
Best: Seeing reader reactions.
Worst, promo. I am so awkward and bad at it.
What inspires you to write?
Everything holds inspiration. Usually thought it’s a snippet of a myth, something on TV, a story that sparks something inside me and begs for me to write it.
How did you conduct your research for Santa’s Naught List?
I have two stories in the anthology. One is called All I Want for Christmas which didn’t take any research really. The second is called The Last Christmas and that one I had to use the book I write previously that is in the same world to research it so I could keep it all accurate.
Thank You Monica for taking the time to sit and talk with us.
Thanks so much!

Lexi Cavanagh has been tracking a syndicate of poachers. She finds herself in Duke Greyson's territory when she follows the illegal animal traders as they travel into bear country.
Duke Greyson is the resident parks and wildlife ranger, and when his brother calls in to say two of the bear cubs have gone missing. He has to wonder if it's safe to tell Lexi about his family's secret.
Meet The Author
Melissa Bell
I am an author from Brisbane, Australia. I'm an avid reader turned writer. I like books more than TV. Don't get me wrong, I like movies, but the best movies happen in my head as I get lost inside the pages of a good book.
I use life as my inspiration for my work. Generally it's all in my head fighting to get out. I may see an everyday occurrence and it will trigger an idea. My partner will often come home and tell me of a new work colleague's name and I will write it down to use on a character in one of my novels. I love being an author and would highly recommend that if you have words trapped inside your soul, you should let them out, even if it's only to leave a review for a book you've read, start a blog, or become an author.
I hope to one day reach the New York times or USA Today's Best Seller list. Maybe if I dream big enough and hard enough, I will make them both.
Please Welcome Melissa Bell to Rukia Publishing with her story "Bearfoot @ Xmas" and the box set it's included in "Santa's Naughty List".
Hello Melissa and Thank you for joining us today for this countdown to Christmas special with 25 Bad Boys from "Santa's Naughty List".
Let's Get Started!
How long have you been a writer and how did you come to writing?
I have been writing now for two years. I always wanted to be a writer but never had the opportunity or confidence to give it a try. I ended up taking the plunge after reading two really badly written novels, I figured I couldn’t do any worse than what they’d done.
How did you come up with your stories?
I have always loved reading paranormal romances, so it was only natural for me to fall into writing in that genre. I love all things shifter and/or Gods. The first book I wrote was Destiny’s Fate from the Dutiful Gods Series. It is based on modern day gods such as Destiny, Destruction, Dream and Death.
I have a number of projects listed and I simply add to that list as new ideas come to me. All the characters are developed inside my head based on little idiosyncrasies I’ve seen in friends, family, people I grew up with or some I worked with and didn’t necessarily like.
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
Like all some days are great and some days are not. The idea is to never give up, walk away for a short time on the bad days and make up for it on the good ones. One bad day may make me wonder, ‘is this all really worth it.’ One good day is encouragement enough to say, ‘Hell yes!’
What inspires you to write?
All the stories trapped inside my head, without letting them out for everyone to enjoy, I would probably go insane.
How did you conduct your research for – Bearfoot @ Xmas?
I used the internet – I discovered that a bears heart is a lot slower than a humans. I also found out there is a Tibetan snow leopard that is extinct. Snow Leopards can’t roar like other large cats, they chuff.
Thank You Melissa for taking the time to sit and talk with us.

Today we will be talking with our featured author Pablo Michaels about his newest book, "The Secret Santa".
First Let's take a look at the author, Pablo Michaels.
Pablo Michaels is a gay man who writes gay romantic genre fiction from a gay man’s perspective. He is driven to educate and enlighten readers with the true beauty of love between two men. He has published several books over the span of the last five years. He has found a new home to publish his stories with Yellow Silk Dreams, a publisher composed of a coop of authors. He grew up in a working class family that taught him the values of hard work, regardless of the profession, and helped him acquire a diverse education. The family motto is “People can take everything away from you. But they never can take away your education.” He is legally married to his soulmate, a man he has lived with for twenty years.
And what about his newest book, The secret Santa...
Waking amidst a cloud of white powder, Devon cannot believe what he beheld, an image of his childhood fantasy, a skimpily dressed hunk, portraying Santa Claus. The Secret Santa, Erik, taunts Devon with erotic gestures in conveying Santa’s message for Devon to be enlisted as a Secret Santa. Devon must perform certain tasks to prove his love and loyalty to his lover, Peter. Continuously appearing and vanishing in a shroud of white powder, Erik guides Devon along his path to attain his goal. But Erik tempts him sexually, especially when Devon is exercising to perfect his body for Peter on Christmas Day. Devon attempts to tell Peter about the mysterious Secret Santa but receives a disbelieving response. Through all the temptations and with approach of the big day, how does Peter react to the surprise Christmas Eve party which he did not want? Does Devon prove his love and loyalty to Peter? |
We sat down with Pablo Michaels and discovered a little bit more about him.
Hello Pablo and thank you for joining us. We are very excited to begin. Are you ready?
Hello Sarah & Margaret! Thank you for having me! I'm all set, ask away...
What are the best and the worst aspects of writing?
The best aspects of writing are creating characters who overcome obstacles and conflicts, to find their place in life, even when their choices are not the most popular. Writing gives me an escape from stress and self-doubt. Probably the worst aspect of writing is reaching an audience. Marketing and promotion are a necessity but take away the valuable time I would rather use for writing.
What inspires you to write?
Love and people inspire me to write. I find it difficult to describe how I feel when I see people express an overwhelming gesture of kindness or love. When I cannot communicate verbally with family and friends, I escape to express my emotions in stories. Sometimes, I am inspired by times when I experience an overwhelming sensation, captured in a moment in time, like the silhouette of a crescent moon behind a naked deciduous tree. With the hoot of an owl in the background.
How did you conduct your research for – The Secret Santa?
To be honest, The Secret Santa was completely a fantasy from my real life with my husband. I did no research other than looking for a picture for the cover.
What are 3 of your favorite lines/quotes from your new release?
“Did the real Santa Claus send you to seduce me?”
"I’ll reignite the fire of your passion with an exceptional power found in a special recipe from the North Pole’s almighty vault.
“If Secret Santa comes into your life, heed his advice, get naked, and have some fun with the person you love.”
Do you have any blogs/websites?

The Prince's Secret Gift, Garden Of The Gods by P.T. Macias
"I couldn't bear it if I lose you too."
Meet The Author
P.T. Macias
Patricia loves the paranormal genre. She finds this genre an exciting challenge and enjoys writing about the sexy vhampiers, werewolves, dragons, and other entities. Her greatest thrill in writing the paranormal genre is the limitless range of characteristics, powers, and weaknesses available to develop my characters' and entities' realms.
Enjoy P.T. Macias signature theme of intense passion, organized crime, and military paranormal mystery thrillers. These series are addictive! They will take you on an incredible journey of love, passion, and surrender!
We sat down with P.T. Macias and found out even more about her.
Please Welcome P.T.Macias to Rukia Publishing with her story "The Prince's Secret Gift" and the box set it's included in "Santa's Naughty List".
Hello P.T. Macias and Thank you for joining us today for this countdown to Christmas special with 25 Bad Boys from "Santa's Naughty List".
Thanks so much for hosting this interview and helping us get the word out about our terrific anthology, Santa’s Naughty List: 25 Tales of Paranormal Bad Boys
Let's Get Started!
Tell us about your writing process.
There isn’t much to my writing process. I have a concept and I write. I don’t use an outline. The story flows out, and my characters dictate where the story will go. I listen to their story, and I write.
Can you name something you cannot live without?
I would never be able to live without my hubby, children, and grandchildren. I will not give up writing.
If someone who hasn’t read any your book and they asked you to describe it (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
My new release, Angels Of The Fallen: Book Of Samyaza is an amazing epic story. It is the first book in a twelve book series. The stories are about all twelve fallen angels, their love story, and the ordeal of stopping the Dark Prince from taking over humanity before time runs out.
What influenced your decision to self-publish?
I’m a control freak and I don’t like the thought of giving up control in any aspect of my work. I don’t want to give up my rights.
Do you believe that self-published authors can produce books as high-quality as the traditional published?
I do believe that a self-published author can produce books as high in quality as the traditional published author. The self-published works hard to produce the story but also all of the details that the publisher usually handles, such as book cover, formatting, and editing. I believe that the self-published author strives to produce a polished book for the reader to enjoy.

Staying with a Nepalese family in the Himalayas
Welcome back for the Seventh edition of 'Travel Thursday'
with author Robert Fear and his book
"Fred's Diary 1981-second edition"
Travel in Time with Robert Fear~Book Excerpt Seven
"Staying with a Nepalese family in the Himalayas"
Shortly after arriving the weather changed quite dramatically and the thunderstorms set in again. We went inside and one of the boy’s sisters made some wheatbread over the small fire, which was tasty. I keep forgetting the boy’s name but he is nice and does most of the translating as the rest of the family don’t speak any English.
The house is primitive and small but it is home to these people and they’ve opened their arms to me. There is a grandmother, mother and father, four sisters and the boy. I spent most of the afternoon sitting around talking to the boy and his friends. Also taught them some more English which was quite amusing.
As the afternoon wore on it got quite cold as the clouds twirled around the hilltops, sometimes cutting off all visibility, so I changed into my warmer clothes. When the clouds do clear there are some beautiful views from here. One can also see towards the Annapurnas which is spectacular.
I had a Nepalese dinner of rice and dahl which was surprisingly good, although they gave me so much that I was unable to finish it, despite the urgings of the whole family. As it was starting to get dark there were some heavy electrical storms which were a little frightening perched here on a hillside.
We hope you enjoyed this segment of Travel Thursday With Robert Fear!
